Fields of Activity: The "Friendly City Study Centre" (CeSCAm) is a study and research center estabilished under the University of Brescia Rectoral Decree N. 642 of 13 october 1995. In the frame of the researches concerning urban and territorial developement, the center specifically deals with issues related to the quality of life and urban safety: road safety, accessibility, comfort and quality of pubblic spaces, with particular emphasis on the mobility of vulnerable road users. Among others, the activities of CeSCAm are: road safety research and documentation; analysis of road accidents in the urban and extraurban areas; developement of methods for the implementation of road safety systems; developement of methodologies for the analysis and representation of road accident environments; applied procedures for road safety audit and review; organization of activities for the dissemination information and training in road safety; promotion of collaborations and exchange with other similar research bodies; consultancy on issues related to road safety; elaboration of infrastructural solutions with the object of reducing specific types of road accidents.

Skills and Experise Offered: We have a highly qualified team of researchers who have experience in the fields of:
1. ACCESSIBILITY AND SAFETY IN URBAN CONTEXT
Since 1993, the research group plays analysis of the safety of the urban environment, and in particular of traffic, focusing on the privileged point of view of the weak user (children, elderly people, pedestrian, ...), which have opened to many fruitful fields to search.
The Research Group of the University of Brescia is the first example of Italian University systematic research on this topic, which has led to important and consolidated experiences of research and exchange at European level.

2. METROPOLITAN AREAS, TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION IN THE SYSTEM OF TRANSPORT AND GOVERNMENT OF THE CHANGE
The analysis of the regional context into which the Faculty is located has always been an interesting and fruitful opportunity of collaboration with institutions

3. GREENWAYS, ECOLOGICAL NETWORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE TERRITORY

4. PLANNING IN AREAS AT RISK
The theme of the planning in the areas at physical risk has been subject of research for the group, first inside of the activities of the National Group of Defence from Earthquakes of the CNR.


5. THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STUDIES: CRITERIA AND PROCEDURES IN ORDER TO ESTIMATE THE IMPACT
The research on environmental review and environmental impact assessment is tackled in the optical to provide a support decision-making for public administrations and to disclose to a working methodology for impact studies.


6. THE FRAMEWORK OF THE TERRITORIAL PLANNING IN ITALY
The analysis of territorial wide area is successful for the interaction and the enrichment of the knowledge of the territory.
