ORGANISATION
Name of the Organisation: Łukasiewicz Research Network - Automotive Industry Institute
Organisation Short Name: Ł-PIMOT
Organisation Type: REC
Country: Poland
ACTIVITY
Topic(s) of interest from 2018-2019 Transport Work Programme:- LC-GV-06-2020 - Advanced light materials and their production processes for automotive applications
Fields of Activity: Łukasiewicz – PIMOT is a professional, reliable and economically efficient research unit with modern infrastructure and equipment as well as state-of-the-art facilities. The Institute carries out development work and scientific research in the field of: automotive engineering, vehicle development, road safety improvement, alternative vehicle powering methods, fuels, biofuels, and lubricants. The main goal of the Łukasiewicz – PIMOT is to provide Polish entrepreneurs mainly from the transport, fuels, and renewable energy sources sectors with strong scientific and research support in the processes of product development and introduction of the products into world markets. The Institute’s activity is oriented at direct practical applications that are important for the development, innovativeness and competitive power of the Polish industry. Since April 2019, Łukasiewicz – PIMOT has been a part of the ŁUKASIEWICZ Research Network – third largest research network in Europe, operating in line with the “Science is Business” model.
Skills and Experise Offered: Ł-PIMOT can carry out vehicle exploitation tests, check the reliability and durability of eco-components. The Simulation Testing Laboratory performs static and dynamic tests for full truck load structures and their elements made of metals and composites, as well as metal-rubber elements of vehicle suspensions. The tests are carried out in the range of forces up to 500 kN.
The Laboratory is also equipped with a M.A.S.T. vibrating table (Multi-Axial Simulation Table) for vibration tests in six degrees of flexibility, it allows for precise reproduction of any extortion on the basis of collected operating loads and random nature. The laboratory analyzes the impact of vibrations on people while driving a car.
Keywords: vehicle exploitation tests, static and dynamic tests, truck load structures, vibrating table
Previous FP Projects Participated: 7 FP (WEEVIL project, ZeEUS project, ELIPTIC project).
