Fields of Activity: The Centre for Renewable Energy Sources & Saving (CRES), which is the Greek National Energy Agency, specializes on energy planning and policy making for renewable energy sources (RES), rational use of energy (RUE) and energy saving (ES) in line with legislative requirements on international and national level. CRES has a scientific staff of more than 120 highly qualified engineers and scientists and, over its 30 years of operation, has participated in more than 600 European and national projects. These include R&D projects, demonstration projects, feasibility studies, technical and economic studies, market research, as well as training and promotional activities on the RES/RUE/ES related issues. The Environment & Transport Department, has long experience in European and national projects with high expertise in the field of energy management, sustainable transport/mobility (i.e. electromobility, car-sharing, car-pooling, ecodriving, alternative fuels and vehicles, innovative energy efficiency transport solutions, etc.), sustainable fleet management (i.e. vehicles, buses, electro-buses, trains, etc.), ISO (50001-Energy Management, 14001-Environmental Management) and energy policy, efficiency and saving at all sectors (i.e. ports, industry, public buildings, urban areas), Eco-labelling. The Department co-operates through the years with various technology experts all over Europe, exchanging ideas and energy saving solutions and applications. Furthermore, the network of the Department includes many regions and municipalities all over Greece, as well as specialized Institutions and Universities.
Skills and Experise Offered: Indicative Projects:
EMobicity - The project EMOBICITY (Increase of energy efficiency by Electric MOBIlity in the CITY) seeks to improve the low-carbon economy policies suggested by the project partners, so as to facilitate the take up of innovative electric mobility (e-mobility) sustainable measures, by providing the necessary expertise and showing the benefits of e-mobility (Interreg Europe)
